Whether it be a Mac or Windows desktop or laptop you will be using, please be guided on the minimum requirements to have a smooth access of our site/courses/videos.

Network Engineering Studies

  • CPU (Processor) - Any modern processor; minimum Intel Pentium 4 2.53 GHz

  • RAM (Memory) - 512MB minimum, 1GB or more recommended

  • HDD (Storage) - At least 1GB of free disk space recommended\

  • OS (Operating System) - Windows, Linux, or Mac OSX (for easiest use with software tools and Cisco Packet Tracer)

  • Cisco Packet Tracer - available for free from Cisco Systems. Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX are supported natively

Cybersecurity Studies

  • CPU (Processor) - Any modern processor; minimum Intel i5 or equivalent, recommended i7 or equivalent multi-core processor. (More cores allow for more virtual hosts in the local lab environment running simultaneously)

  • RAM (Memory) - 8GB minimum, 16GB recommended (More memory allows for more lab environment components and to operate with more freedom)

  • HDD (Storage) - At least 64GB of free disk space (More disk space allows for more virtual machines installations)

  • OS (Operating System) - Windows, Linux, or MAC OSX *Intel-based Macs preferred for Virtual Box support. If Apple ARM M1/M2 based chip then another hypervisor must be used.

  • Oracle Virtual Box (Free and open source virtualization software - https://virtualbox.org)
